Running your first lesson

Walk through "Find the open teammate" and "Create width" in ten minutes, including direct lesson links and practice locks.

Start with a pass lesson, then a movement lesson

For a first session with a seven-to-eleven-year-old, start in Foundations mode. Foundations keeps every explanation to plain positional ideas ("get between the opponent and your goal") before introducing terms like weak-side overload or cover shadow.

Open Lessons in the top toolbar and pick "Find the open teammate". Read the banner above the pitch together, then click "Hide guidance & let them decide".

  • In a pass lesson, the learner previews a teammate and confirms the pass. Moving players is disabled so the question stays focused.
  • In a movement lesson ("Create width" or "Create a support triangle"), dragging the named learner unlocks "Check my move". Submitting without moving returns "No change yet" rather than false praise.
  • Pressing "Return to coaching" during an unfinished attempt discards temporary edits and restores the exact starting snapshot.
